This page illustrates how business ideas are born at Concept That: observe a new environment, add past experiences, and filter it all through the prism of product thinking.

In 2023, we relocated to London, UK—a city rich in both history and high-net-worth individuals 😏. It didn’t take long to uncover a specific client need: the shortage of truly unique experiences tailored to this audience. From there, it was simply a matter of connecting the dots: Client → Problem → Solution → Business Idea in a value-creation chain.

One year later, the ‘Retreats to the Past’ project idea continues to evolve. We have specified our core client, defined the budget—£30 million, and refined the product, especially in the wake of the 2024 artificial intelligence boom.

Retreats to the Past

Who are our clients, and what is their need?
People who have already explored most of the world’s exclusive destinations and are no longer captivated by high-end entertainment.

They are ready to pay any price but only for the experiences that are one-of-a-kind and unlike anything they’ve encountered before.
«What I've seen with the ultra-rich — money is no object when it comes to experiences. They want something they they'll never forget»
Nick D'Annunzio, the owner of TARA, Ink., a public relations firm specializing in special events.
What can we provide that’s truly unique?

We will transport them to the Past.

Clients of our flagship product, "Deep Immersion," are to experience something genuinely unparalleled: stepping into a meticulously recreated historical reality, filled with objects and events from the era of their choice.

We recreate specific parts of the past with the utmost authenticity and give the option to step out into ultra-modern environment.

In simple terms

We propose to acquire a plot of land, possibly with unusual buildings on it, in the UK with the potential to build ultra-modern accommodation and "deep immersion" site.

We can start by creating a glamping site and hosting exclusive, invite-only VIP events.

Next, we’ll build ultra-modern guest houses alongside a Barn filled with curated items from the past.

We also plan to create a creative Lab with workshops and a media space where clients can produce exceptional content using our equipment, props, and interiors.

The flagship product will be a “Deep Immersion” experience, which runs several times a year to host bespoke events that transport clients into the forgone era of their choice.

For the rest of the year, the site will operate as a boutique hotel with a distinctive edge.

3 products will be brought together under one roof

A massive, futuristic-looking barn is designed to accommodate almost any decorations, allowing for the creation of a historical setting for the most ambitious types of 'Immersion'
Deep Immersion
A Windsor-style dinner with multiple courses and authentic interiors is the minimum of what can be arranged within the pavilion's walls.
What might the «Deep Immersion» product look like?
An adventure scenario based on 19th-century archaeological expeditions for ancient antiquities. Inside the barn-pavilion, we construct a multi-level tomb. The client is accompanied by a team of «seasoned explorers», with roles performed by actors from the Lab.
We plan to actively integrate modern technologies. For instance, we could install a full-scale replica of a cave made from 3D-printed mammoth bones.

Technologies for full-scale conversing with AI-generated personas are rapidly evolving. By the time we launch the project, it is likely to be possible to interact with prompted prominent figures of the past from the chosen era.
The problem with modern costume shows in historical palaces is that they lack immersion and atmosphere. Should you step around the corner of a grand hall, you might find a modern pipe or a standard tiled restroom.

"Deep Immersion" offers a completely authentic historical reality inside, with a "sci-fi" environment like something out of Westworld surrounding the barn. Unlike architectural monuments, we allow clients to fully interact with objects and interiors. The immersion concept even lets them tear everything apart during their event if they wish.
A project-focused creative hub bringing together producers, casting directors, screenwriters, directors, artists, and actors. Some staff live on-site, and their work can be observed in a «behind-the-glass» format.

For each immersion, a scenario with multiple development paths is created, along with custom-built sets and costumes, and a cast of actors and stunt performers is assembled.

Six months period to develop a single immersion is the guarantee of top-tier quality of event and unmatched level of personalisation.

Hotel
Boutique rooms can feature historical accents that are easily swapped each season. However, the core design remains modern and can even lean towards futuristic.
The first stage could involve setting up a glamping site and launching programs for medieval feasts.
